Course Content | The course is vocational and is made up of three components: two internally assessed and one that’s externally assessed. The three components are:  Human Lifespan Development (internally assessed assignments – 30% of the total course)   Health and Social Care Services and Values (internally assessed assignments – 30% of the total course)   Health and Wellbeing (externally assessed task – 40% of the total course)  |
Course Assessment | Internally assessed assignments -Work is marked internally and verified internally and then samples of work are externally verified by Edexcel, to ensure standards are maintained.  |
Progression/ Careers Information | Students can go on to study A Level Health and Social care or Level 3 BTEC at  College.  Students can also progress to our unique Pre-Apprenticeship Course and secure a placement in Health and Social Care or with the NHS.  Social care is another area where there will be more and more work available, at all levels, as the population becomes older. There are many career pathways in social services. |
