SEND

Haywood Academy is an inclusive school, with a large and dynamic SEND Department. Across the academy, we support a number of students who have a range of additional needs.

Students are supported in the classroom by quality first teaching and Learning Support Practitioners, in addition to a range of bespoke interventions. The Learning Support Department support(s) students at Haywood Academy, using a varied range of strategies, specialist programmes and teaching delivered by expert staff. It is our priority to ensure that pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities receive the highest quality teaching, learning experiences, interventions and support to ensure that they make progress and achieve their full potential. Within the Learning Support Department, we offer students a varied and often bespoke curriculum to meet their needs to ensure they have an enriching experience while at Haywood Academy.
