Samantha Fagan

Vice Principal (Inclusion:- Curriculum, Teaching and Achievement)

I was born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, something I am extremely proud of. With my mum working in a local pot bank and my dad as a truck driver, I grew up surrounded by hard work and resilience. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a teacher, and my parents fully encouraged and supported that dream.

I began my training at Manchester Metropolitan University before taking time out to have my daughter, later returning to complete my degree and start my teaching career in 2011. Since then, I have taught across all phases in primary education, gaining a deep understanding of how children develop academically, socially, and emotionally. Teaching has always been my passion—I genuinely can’t help but smile when I say that I teach. That same joy is something I aim to pass on to both pupils and staff every day.

Throughout my career, I have served on the senior leadership team at Mill Hill, leading curriculum development and driving improvements in outcomes for all learners. I am very pleased to serve as Vice Principal and excited to contribute to the ongoing journey of our academy. I am particularly enthusiastic about bringing my knowledge and experience from primary teaching into the secondary environment, ensuring that every child continues to thrive as they transition through their educational journey.

My passion lies in supporting children to grow into confident, independent learners who believe they can achieve anything they aspire to. I feel an enormous sense of pride when I see our pupils take on new challenges, discover new strengths, and experience success. Being part of the leadership team allows me to extend my impact beyond the classroom—helping to shape a school where every child feels valued, capable, and inspired.
