Vision & ethos

At Haywood Academy, we want our students to dream, believe and achieve through offering our pupils a forward thinking and innovative curriculum. All pupils are encouraged to hold the highest expectations of themselves and our staff will motivate and challenge each child to reach their full potential.

We want Haywood Academy to be a learning community where education is viewed enthusiastically as a lifetime journey which has already started and will continue beyond us.

We also want our academy to be an island of stability where a child can be secure and happy whatever social pressures exist outside. The responsibility for creating that environment is a responsibility we take very seriously.

Our aims are:

· To provide a broad, varied and well-balanced curriculum which nurtures and develops the potential of each child.

· To foster caring attitudes which ensures each individual feels confident, secure, valued and respected by others.

· To create a stimulating environment which encourages enthusiasm for learning and promotes an expectation of high standards.

· To cultivate a kindness culture so that students become thoughtful and happy learners.

· To promote a successful partnership between home, school and the wider community.

Our vision is driven by our motto. We expect our students to have dreams and goals that they will work their hardest to achieve.

Our motto for the Academy is:

Dream – Believe – Achieve

Our academy rules:

‘The Haywood Way’ underpins our behaviour policy and is the core foundation to achieve our motto. A fundamental part of this are our three rules (3Rs):

Ready – Respectful – Responsible

Don’t keep it to yourself –
